Microsoft Copilot
Microsoft's AI assistant for quick answers, images and help inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
What is Copilot?
Copilot is Microsoft's AI assistant. You can chat with it on the web, on your phone or right inside Windows and the Edge browser. If you use Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Outlook, Copilot can also work inside those apps to help you write, analyse and present faster.
Think of it as a helpful co-worker built into the Microsoft tools you already use.
What makes Copilot special
- Built into Windows and Edge: help is just one click away on your computer
- Works with Microsoft 365: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (with a supported plan)
- Answers with sources: shows the websites behind its answers
- Creates images: turn a short description into a picture
- Talk to it: use voice for a hands-free conversation
What you can do with it
- Write in Word: draft, rewrite or summarise documents
- Understand Excel: ask questions about your data and get charts and insights
- Build slides: turn a document or an idea into a PowerPoint presentation
- Manage email: summarise long Outlook threads and draft replies
- Search smarter: get quick answers with links in Edge
- Design visuals: create posters, banners and illustrations
Get started in 3 steps
- Go to copilot.microsoft.com or open the Copilot app on Windows
- Sign in with your Microsoft account (Outlook or Hotmail email works)
- Type, speak or upload a file, then ask follow-ups to refine
On your phone: Download the Copilot app (Android or iPhone).
